The Most Valuable Thing in the World

The parables suggest a similar element of hiddenness or surprise when it comes to the Kingdom of God ... It can be right in front of our eyes, but we are blind to see its value. Ironically, one of the reasons that value remains hidden, or remained hidden in Jesus’ day, was because of the way he described it. Many Jews in his day would have found his analogies disappointing, shocking, and even subversive.
