But in today’s Epiphany story, in which Matthew juxtaposes two Umwelten, one in which people are shaped and steered by divine light, and one in which people are shaped and steered by fear, violence, political power-plays and greed – all the darkness in which Herod dwelled, Matthew basically gives us a choice.
