About the Event
POP’s piano concert series continues Sunday, July 28th at 4 pm, inviting a local rising star in the world of music, Peter Kandra.Â
Peter Kandra is a third-year Piano Performance Major at the University of Georgia, where he studies under the renowned Dr. Evgeny Rivkin. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the prestigious Performing and Visual Arts Magnet Program at Broadneck High School, Peter has already made a name for himself in the music world, performing at esteemed venues such as the Kennedy Center and Academy of Music. With a passion for Germanic and Slavic works, Peter has participated in numerous international music festivals and has won top honors, including the grand prize at the Kirov International Music Festival. He has also had the privilege of studying with esteemed musicians and conductors, including Dr. Yesook Suh, Dr. Jinha Park, and Donald Portnoy. Peter's love for music is matched only by his dedication to his faith and heritage, and he is an active member of the University of Georgia Catholic Center and the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family. With his talent, passion, and commitment, Peter Kandra is sure to make a lasting impact in the world of music.
