About the Event
Join POP as we learn about the Smithsonian Research Center in Edgewater that is exploring the ecology of coastal zones. Cate Bower will tell us what they are doing and what we can do for the environment!
The Center is working to conserve endangered species, manage sustainable fisheries, monitor the impact of global change, control invasive species, reduce pollution, and understand how human land use has altered the environment. Come and learn how you can help!
The Center trains teachers and offers paid internships and professional fellowships. They love volunteers, who are trained to lead school field trips, tours and canoe trips. They offer free evening lectures.
