The group will discuss the classic 1943 coming-of-age novel A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. The story follows Francie Nolan from age 11 to 17, detailing her family's struggles, her love for reading, and her aspirations to gain an education while exploring themes of poverty, family, resilience, and the immigrant experience.
