Two Turtledoves and a Lesson in Loyalty and Letting Go

Updated: Jun 18

Set free from his waiting after seeing the baby, Simeon became more like a prophet, prophesying how the future would be for Jesus and for Mary. Anna is transformed from being a Temple prophet to an enthusiastic preacher, going out into the world for the first time in a long time to share the good news of Christ’s arrival. Both of them let go of their old roles and practices after their encounter with the baby. They began new lives even in their old age.

Isaiah 61:10-11; Luke 2:22-40
