The Great Commission also seems to smooth out many questions of the past by incorporating elements from all of the covenants we have studied so far. In so doing, it provides us, Jesus’ disciples, with the very things David yearned for when he proposed the Temple campaign: authority, legitimacy, and the enduring presence of God.
