Preschool Curriculum:Children are never too young to learn about the wondrous book, the Bible. In this class, children will focus on a different Bible story or event each month. Throughout the month multisensory lessons will include arts and crafts, songs, dance, puppet shows, games and other fun activities. This year’s schedule is as follows:
Elementary School Curriculum:Prince of Peace uses the Workshop Rotation Model. This is an exciting program where children’s enthusiasm for learning about God and their greater understanding of the Bible are nurtured and explored. Children enjoy workshops that bring the Word of God alive through drama, puppets, storytelling, cooking, movement and music, arts and crafts, movies, Bible games, computers and worship. During each month every class rotates through different workshops, exploring a Bible story through four different learning experiences. This year’s schedule is as follows:
Additional Sundays for Elementary if needed - How to locate Bible passages Middle SchoolIn addition to our Live Big curriculum, this year we will be instituting a special movie/discussion study the 3rd Sunday of every month. Students will be invited to watch modern spiritual movies that appeal to a teen audience and discuss how they relate to their lives as Christian teens.
High SchoolHigh schoolers are given a unique opportunity at Prince of Peace to engage in small group discussions surrounding Biblical questions they have. This interaction provides many meaningful moments and lessons are planned accordingly for the next week.
Youth GroupWe strive to provide a number of outreach opportunities as well as social events for our middle and high schoolers. At our picnic in September, each member of this age group picks a month from a hat. For their assigned month, they are asked to come up with a service activity (we call it a "pay it forward" activity") in which they will think of a random act of kindness they can organize. Some of our past events included leaving painted pumpkins on random doorsteps and bringing them to our members in nursing home facilities, making cards for troops in Iraq and getting care packages together with help from the congregation, making up and shipping care packages for victims of Haiti's earthquake, hosting a Parent's Night Out, taking an extra collection for the Food Bank, and helping with yard work for a family in church who needed cheering. We are anxious to see what ideas students come up with this year.
Friends of teens are always welcome to join us for our youth group events. This year we hope to begin a teen night which will include worship music and fellowship of teens from other area churches.
Activities For All Children
In addition to Sunday School there are numerous activities available throughout the year. Events are primarily social in nature, and allow children and their families to gather in faith-filled fellowship. Events are publicized weekly in the Sunday bulletin and monthly in the newsletter, The Church Mouse. We are invited to visit a small farm each fall and spring that raises goats and chickens. We host a Santa's Workshop night, hold an annual Christmas Pageant, a kid's palm procession (this year with a colt), just to name a few of our annual activities.

| My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1:2-4) |
