Children & Worship

children_and_youthOne of the goals of Prince of Peace is to equip children to worship with the church community. To accomplish this we seek to be supportive of the needs of parents and caregivers, as we strive to make children and youth active participants in the worship experience. We hope that the Fish Bags, Children’s Time, Sunday School and Noah’s Ark (child care) help children and their families experience worship at Prince of Peace.

Time With Young Christians:

During worship children are invited to the front of the sanctuary to share in a short talk with the Pastor just for them.

Sunday School for preshool/elementary and middle school students takes place immediately after Time With Young Christians.  Sunday school teachers will be on hand in back of the sanctuary to escort the children to their classrooms.

Noah’s Ark (child care):

A nursery attendant and parent volunteers provide children younger than 4 years old with a loving and nurturing environment while their parents are renewed in Sunday worship.

Lay Reader:

Our church has a history of welcoming children who can read to be the lay reader for the service.  We find this a great way to involve our children in worship and to help them acquire a very valuable skill - speaking in front of people. Many parents perform this task as a role-model, showing their children how they can experience the security and joy of praising God.
